First, look up your legislators and their contact information. Look up by individual address or look up by district.

Second, find out more about them. Find out more about your legislators.

• • • Are they already co-sponsoring S.2696? If so, thank them so that they can report having received support from their constituents.

• Did they support a similar bill in the current or previous legislative session?

  • • • • If so, ask them to co-sponsor S.2696 (or the eventual House equivalent) if they are not doing so already.

        • If not, just ask them to vote for the bill when it comes to a floor vote.

• Are they on a committee with influence such as Ways and Means? If so, ask them to expedite the legislation through committee with a favorable recommendation.

By email or fax: These methods can be useful when voicemail inboxes are full.

By postcard or letter: These methods are slower and require a stamp, but they are great for mobilizing people already assembled in the same space for a meeting or postcard writing party.
